I am from Puerto Rico – my grandmother was a wonderful seamstress and also made absolutely gorgeous mundillo – which is bobbin lace from Puerto Rico. All my dresses when I was little were made by her adorned with her lace. I would love to learn how to make this. Do you offer classes for the beginner?
Linda, I am not the right person to teach you! I rely on my own mentors heavily and consider myself a beginner who continues to be over her head! I looked online to find a group of lace makers, and hopefully you will find one too! If it’s in your DNA I’m sure you can pick it up quickly with a little help!
Is there a someone, place or group in Rhode Island that does bobbin lace?
try ioli.eastern@gmail.com or
Julie.boch@gmail.com
the first is the eastern regional director of ioli
the second is a person listed in Rhode Island in the ioli handbook
Good Luck
Recently moved to Coventry RI and am looking for a bobbin lace group or class.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
