behind that Door?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On our second day in lovely Georgetown, as we were walking down Front Street, in the residential area with its historic homes, we happened on this beautifully restored Federal style house with its front door <em>wide<\/em>\u00a0<em>open<\/em>.\u00a0 Hmmm\u2026 Could this be my chance to take a look beyond front doors and porches??<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/4-1-15a-028.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3354\" alt=\"4-1-15a 028\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/4-1-15a-028.jpg\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/4-1-15a-028.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/4-1-15a-028-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The man from the red pickup truck said we should go inside for a tour.\u00a0 I thought he meant it was a historic house tour, with a guide.\u00a0 Bob and I entered the house and began calling out \u2018hellos\u2019 to no answer.\u00a0 I ventured a bit further and then really felt I should not be wandering about in this beautifully appointed house unsupervised.\u00a0 Bob went back out to consult the pickup truck man.\u00a0 He said that the house is for sale, fully furnished, and that it was open today for viewing.\u00a0 No one was inside, but we could help ourselves to a tour.\u00a0 Talk about southern hospitality, and trusting folks!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0This house was built in 1815, so it is 200 years old this year.\u00a0 It is furnished with a mix of antiques and reproductions, and some of the antiques are considerably older than the house. \u00a0The dining table and sideboard were fully set for dinner&#8230;. inviting!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/4-1-15a-018.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3355\" alt=\"4-1-15a 018\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/4-1-15a-018.jpg\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\"
