{"id":551,"date":"2011-08-27T16:43:07","date_gmt":"2011-08-27T16:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/?p=551"},"modified":"2011-08-27T17:07:32","modified_gmt":"2011-08-27T17:07:32","slug":"ending-the-trip-with-a-bang","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/?p=551","title":{"rendered":"Ending the trip with a Bang!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My last few days in Maine will be spent riding out what remains of hurricane Irene when she hits these shores. \u00a0Hopefully she will be spent by the time she arrives, but everyone has to be prepared for the worst!<\/p>\n<p>We are in a small island harbor called Pulpit Rock in Penobscot Bay. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/8.5.2011-Isleboro-041.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-557\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/8.5.2011-Isleboro-041.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"254\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a> There is a big rock formation at the mouth of this natural harbor that does look a bit like a pulpit. \u00a0More than looking like a podium this rock is famous for having a 200+ year old osprey nest at the pinnacle of the pulpit.<\/p>\n<p>Our preparations for the storm are almost complete. \u00a0We have two anchors out to keep us from swinging when the winds increase, all the sails are furled and lashed down, loose items have all been stored below. \u00a0The larder is well stocked so I intend to cook some comfort food today, perhaps an egg\/veggie\/cheese timbale, onion soup, and warm homemade chocolate pudding!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_552\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-552\" style=\"width: 87px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/CVR_SFS_chocolate_pudding_for_adults_CLR_019_thumb.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-552 \" title=\"!\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/CVR_SFS_chocolate_pudding_for_adults_CLR_019_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"87\" height=\"87\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-552\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chocolate Pudding from Cook&#39;s Illustrated<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Thank heave there is a good internet signal because I got the chocolate pudding recipe from this month&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooksillustrated.com\">Cook&#8217;s Illustrated<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also on my agenda after we have finished our storm preparations, is watching a couple of good spinning DVDs I have on board while doing some spinning!
