{"id":2318,"date":"2013-09-25T11:13:31","date_gmt":"2013-09-25T11:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/?p=2318"},"modified":"2013-09-25T11:22:26","modified_gmt":"2013-09-25T11:22:26","slug":"bucket-of-gold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/?p=2318","title":{"rendered":"Bucket of Gold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Summer has ended with such glorious days! \u00a0Along my daily walk the views seem extra lovely, with dappled light coming through the canopy of tall trees, playing on the thick undergrowth of fern. \u00a0The light is getting long so it is particularly nice in the morning and late afternoon. \u00a0The goldenrod is glowing along the roadside&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And goldenrod is just what I need to donate to my guild&#8217;s annual natural dye day. \u00a0Bob came along with me to tote the large shopping bag as we both cut flowers. \u00a0I was aiming for two pounds, but before we knew it we had four!<a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2013-09-19-14.42.15.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2319\" title=\"2013-09-19 14.42.15\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2013-09-19-14.42.15.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"374\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2013-09-19-14.42.15.jpg 374w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2013-09-19-14.42.15-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><\/a>I sat on the front porch to cut the flowers into smaller bits. \u00a0Unfortunately, it is not for sale&#8230; I can just imagine myself weaving on that upper floor&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/9-18-13a-041.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2327\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/9-18-13a-041-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/9-18-13a-041-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/9-18-13a-041-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We walked along the cliffwalk and along the harbor, where we were anchored. \u00a0We volunteered for few hours at the annual Newport Boat Show which gave us free admittance to all the exhibits. \u00a0Bob loved that!<\/p>\n<p>Back at home, I am settling in to the first week of autumn. \u00a0My goldenrod dyebath is ready, my yarns are mordanted. \u00a0I&#8217;ve got a year old indigo vat that I&#8217;d like to reconstitute, and I&#8217;ve got fresh indigo ready to harvest. \u00a0That will be a new process for me!
