I am making progress on projects I missed all fall and winter, and at last (!!) I&#8217;ve connected with the interest groups in my new area: weavers, knitters, dyers, and lace makers! \u00a0It&#8217;s all very exciting and inspiring to me.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week I met my oldest friend at the Lyme Art Association while she was dropping of her sculpture <a href=\"http:\/\/leaanncogswell.com\/works\/1175902\/daughter\">&#8220;Daughter&#8221; <\/a>that will be on display as part of the upcoming exhibit by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hudsonart.org\/#!exhibitions\/cee5\">Hudson Valley Art Association<\/a>. Right nearby was a bronze bust of Robert Frost done by<a href=\"http:\/\/www.josebuscaglia.com\/\"> Jose Bascaglia<\/a>. Exciting works! My friend also has a piece in the<a href=\"http:\/\/nationalsculpture.org\/Exhibits\/80th_annual\/index.cfm\/fa\/c.gallery\/StartRow\/10\"> National Sculpture Society&#8217;s<\/a> exhibit that is traveling this summer (Lea Ann&#8217;s piece is &#8220;Virga,&#8221; the first image on the page).<\/p>\n<p>It was a soft green drizzly day , and LeaAnn and I decided to walk through the grounds of the Florence Griswold Museum where the gardens were in soft focus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-10-16.02.56.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2107\" title=\"2013-06-10 16.02.56\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-10-16.02.56.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-10-16.02.56.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-10-16.02.56-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On my daily walks I pass a certain fence that is about 100 feet long and bedecked in this lovely candy striped rose.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-09-11.25.50.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2108\" title=\"2013-06-09 11.25.50\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-09-11.25.50.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"374\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-09-11.25.50.jpg 374w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-09-11.25.50-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Later in the summer this same fence will serve as support for about a million sunflowers. \u00a0The sunflower seedlings are already up! \u00a0And to add to the ambience there is a huge lawn just beyond this fence border that is home to a beautiful yellow barn and two Weimaraners who are often out frolicking on the lawn. \u00a0There is always something beautiful to see at this spot along my walk!<\/p>\n<p>And in my own garden this summer I have a passion flower vine growing in a pot. \u00a0The first flower opened this morning!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-10.13.13.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2109\" title=\"2013-06-12 10.13.13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-10.13.13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"374\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-10.13.13.jpg 374w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-10.13.13-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Surrounded by so many flowers, it&#8217;s no wonder I&#8217;m thinking about them for my next tapestry. \u00a0I am halfway through the final pear in my &#8216;Trail of Pears,&#8217; so I&#8217;ve been designing the next tapestry. \u00a0I&#8217;m intrigued by a still life based on a woodcut of nasturtiums in a bowl.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-15.51.20.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2110\" title=\"2013-06-12 15.51.20\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-15.51.20.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-15.51.20.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/2013-06-12-15.51.20-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am enjoying taking this pot of nasturtiums and putting it into an environment&#8230;.perhaps with a window behind and some curtains, the edge of a table&#8230;. we&#8217;ll see.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everything seems in full swing now&#8230;.
