{"id":2044,"date":"2013-05-15T17:55:48","date_gmt":"2013-05-15T17:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/?p=2044"},"modified":"2013-05-15T18:00:50","modified_gmt":"2013-05-15T18:00:50","slug":"theres-no-place-like-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/?p=2044","title":{"rendered":"There&#8217;s No Place Like Home&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>There really isn&#8217;t<\/em>. \u00a0And to top it off it&#8217;s May in New England.<\/p>\n<p>My sister had offered to meet me at the airport. \u00a0It would just be the two of us; we&#8217;d have dinner afterward so she could catch me up on her family and her long solo stint of taking care of our aging and difficult mother.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, she and my sons planned a larger family gathering to greet me. \u00a0Seven \u00a0family members were waiting for me when I arrived, and because my flight was late all the other people waiting for loved ones had gotten in on the act. \u00a0So, I arrived to a crowd of clapping bystanders, who were shouting,\u00a0&#8220;Welcome home, Mom!&#8221; \u00a0I was completely confused, which is a very good thing, because otherwise I would have cried&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/B6whUKafHIs?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Mother&#8217;s Day weekend was about as perfect as possible. \u00a0The kids and I went to the annual Garden Club sale at the little park in the center of town, and we worked in the garden cleaning up the debris from winter and planting my purchases from the sale. \u00a0It was a wonderful homecoming!<\/p>\n<p>Today I plied the brilliant saffron mohair that I spun in the Bahamas. \u00a0Here it is with the mohair skeins from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knittersreview.com\/article_event.asp?article=\/review\/profile\/010510_a_2.asp\">Persimmon Tree<\/a> that I plan to use with it. \u00a0I&#8217;m envisioning a fall jacket&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/2013-05-15-13.28.21.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2049\" title=\"2013-05-15 13.28.21\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/2013-05-15-13.28.21-e1368640527838-1024x852.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/2013-05-15-13.28.21-e1368640527838-1024x852.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/2013-05-15-13.28.21-e1368640527838-300x249.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 384px) 100vw, 384px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There really isn&#8217;t. \u00a0And to top it off it&#8217;s May in New England.
