This sweater is for my new niece who will arrive in Dec!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/_wMHmSKIt2bg\/SvL48WkDigI\/AAAAAAAABc4\/KexSfcu1Gz8\/s1600-h\/Tapestry%20HRob%20progress%2011.09%5B3%5D.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"Tapestry HRob progress 11.09\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Tapestry HRob progress 11.09\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_wMHmSKIt2bg\/SvL482o8k3I\/AAAAAAAABc8\/ZkfiHRNk4IQ\/Tapestry%20HRob%20progress%2011.09_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"356\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>My biggest accomplishment this month was tackling the details on Rob\u2019s face!&#160; I\u2019m at the halfway point of the cartoon, but have completed more than 50% of the difficult areas now. (Lots of \u2018hand-holding\u2019 from Soyoo Park to choose skin colors and to work three interlocking sections on five warps for Rob\u2019s mouth!)<\/p>\n<p>A few other things with no photos:&#160; a pair of jaywalker socks where I tried to get the pattern part out of <em>one ball<\/em> of Regia Color Effekt, by using a solid color yarn for the cuff, heel, and toe.&#160; Didn\u2019t work!&#160; I ran out of the Regia before I got to the toe, so part of the foot is done in solid color.&#160; Bummer.&#160; At least that won\u2019t show when I have shoes on!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m also brewing another avocado pit dye.&#160; This time I\u2019m attempting patience, how novel!&#160; Each time we eat an avocado I finely chop the pit and add it to the brew.&#160; Every second or third day I heat the dyepot to a simmer for 30 minutes as per Carol Lee\u2019s instructions.&#160; She says this goes on for<em> months<\/em> before actually dyeing. It\u2019s a luscious red!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Then,<\/strong><\/em> on the penultimate day of the month I began to malfunction\u2026and by the end of the day I was in bed with the flu!&#160; Seven days later I can barely get out of my own way.&#160; I\u2019ve lost momentum\u2026. and I\u201dm in a funk\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>The last time I had the flu (12 years ago), I ran to my LYS and bought some lace weight merino (Grignasco?) and got in bed with a Eugene Buehler pattern from Knitter\u2019s Magazine.
