As you can see, there is a lot to choose from.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Tea-Room-Savannah-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1422\" title=\"Tea Room Savannah 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Tea-Room-Savannah-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Tea-Room-Savannah-2.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Tea-Room-Savannah-2-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The store and the dining room is done with an &#8220;Arts and Crafts&#8221; theme that is really lovely! \u00a0I could live here&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Tea-Room-Savannah.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1423\" title=\"Tea Room Savannah\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Tea-Room-Savannah.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"192\" height=\"263\" \/><\/a>On another day, our friends from <em>Brilliant<\/em> recommended we all have lunch together at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrswilkes.com\/\">Mrs. Wilkes&#8217; Dining Room<\/a>. \u00a0<em>What an experience!<\/em> \u00a0You line up on the street with about a thousand other hungry people, and you are admitted to the dining room a table&#8217;s worth at a time. \u00a0Most of the tables seat between 6 and 12 people, so you are seated with others when a table becomes available. \u00a0You don&#8217;t order food; there is no printed menu. \u00a0Food just arrives at the table in large serving dishes, and you help yourself to what appeals to you. \u00a0I have never seen so much food on a table! \u00a0It&#8217;s more than Thanksgiving! \u00a0I think some of these dishes must always be on the menu: \u00a0fried chicken, black eyed peas, Brunswick stew, barbecued pork, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, rutabaga, squash, green beans, candied sweet potatoes&#8230;..I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;m forgetting at least a dozen other dishes. \u00a0It was amazing. \u00a0The only thing you have a choice on is your drink, which can be sweetened or unsweetened iced tea, or water!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This is the little alley-way that leads into the dining room. \u00a0When we arrived at 12 noon the line was already down the street.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ms-wilkes-dining-room-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1424\" title=\"ms wilkes dining room 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ms-wilkes-dining-room-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And here&#8217;s a shot of the table!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Ms-wilkes-dining-room-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1425\" title=\"Ms wilkes dining room 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Ms-wilkes-dining-room-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Ms-wilkes-dining-room-2.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.argoknot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Ms-wilkes-dining-room-2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Oh yeah&#8230;.just looking at this photo shows several dishes I forgot to mention! \u00a0Baked bean, \u00a0cornbread, biscuits&#8230;.. it was amazing!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I&#8217;m not going to mention the three days it took us to get to St. Marys, Georgia. \u00a0The weather has just been so dreary that it&#8217;s best not to talk about it&#8230;.best for me to just put it behind me. \u00a0I will say I had another day with some rather severe homesickness&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">St. Marys (and it is not St. Mary&#8217;s) is just over the border from Fernandina Beach, Florida. \u00a0I mean <em>literally<\/em>. \u00a0I think the two towns would be connected if not for the border. \u00a0Well, maybe that is a slight exaggeration. \u00a0They do share the same harbor entrance that splits before you reach either town. \u00a0And that means that moments after we leave here we will be in Florida. \u00a0<em>Wow!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the meantime, we intend to have a marvelous few days here, and it&#8217;s going quite well at the moment since today I awoke to sunny skies for the first time in about two weeks! \u00a0Every night leading up to Thanksgiving there is some kind of evening get together for sailors in this town, or morning coffee and treats at one of the local shops. \u00a0They have a tradition here of taking good care of sailors for Thanksgiving! \u00a0I don&#8217;t know how they do it, but each year they serve Thanksgiving dinner to about 200 sailors. \u00a0&#8220;They&#8221; supply the turkeys and the sailors supply all the side dishes and desserts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I&#8217;m off to shop for my contribution so I can bake tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;.Oh!
